First: You'll want to have a full time, dedicated agent. A full time Realtor like me is in the field all day, everyday. You don't want a part time agent who becomes an agent only after they get off work from their "other" job. The best bet for you is to hire a Realtor whose plan is longevity in real estate, and one who is career based in the real estate business. You will need an agent who is available for you full time (Nights, Weekends, and Early Mornings) and knows the market well. I'm that REALTOR!  I'm in the field everyday and I watch current market developments on a day to day basis. A thing to remember, there is nothing worse than an agent that never answers the phone or does not return your calls when you need help and have questions. Lack of communication with their Realtor or agent is one of the biggest complaints among buyers and sellers!

 

Second: You'll want an agent with experience, and an agent that is well educated in real estate. I'm that REALTOR! I have a COLLEGE DEGREE in real estate and have several designations showing my high standard of real estate practice. My designations in progress include the GRI, ABR, CRS, ASR and more. Not many agents can say they will have a degree in Real Estate and will have my designations. Just ask them for proof! Being a native of our region, I know all the local neighborhoods, schools, market conditions, ordinances, and more. You will need a Realtor who knows the mandatory California state laws of disclosure and knows the C.A.R. real estate contracts very well. Buying or selling a home is not a walk in the park! There are many things to consider that must be done right in a real estate transaction in order to stay out of court and to avoid lawsuits. In addition, you NEED great representation! Hire a top-tier Realtor, not an average one! I am a well educated professional Realtor that can protect your best interests! Feel free to ask me about my designations and/or degrees! Thank you.

 

*You DON'T want an AVERAGE Realtor or agent with minimal training or an agent who just promises to give you great rates as their selling point! A real estate transaction is one of the most important things you will ever do in your life! Do not settle for a mediocre agent! It could be the biggest mistake of your life!
